Venues
Are the venues barrier-free?
Although we have already implemented a number of measures to improve accessibility (e.g. a ramp to the stage at the Umweltforum), our venues are not fully accessible in every respect. To enable you, our guests and customers, to get an idea in advance of the exact facilities available in each room, we have had our venues assessed in accordance with the Germany-wide ‘Reisen für Alle’ labelling scheme. As part of this assessment, our venues are described in detail with regard to accessibility. This means you can read the details at any time.
More about accessibility at BESONDERE ORTE.
Is there free WIFI in all of the venues?
A: Yes, we provide you with free WIFI at all of our venues. If internet access is a main pillar of your event, please inform us of this beforehand.
Do the venues still function as churches and do they hold services?
A: Yes, all of our church venues (Umweltforum, Tagungswerk, Zwinglikirche and Französische Friedrichstadtkirche) are consecrated churches. Regular services occur in all of the churches with the exception of Tagungswerk.
What are you doing in terms of sustainability? Do you hold any certifications?
We have been registered in the EMAS register with our environmental management system since 2012. Every two years, we are audited by an independent environmental verifier and our environmental statement is validated. Accordingly, we are constantly working to improve our environmental performance and are implementing various measures.
We have been a Sustainable Berlin partner since 2018. We were the first Berlin-based company to pass the rigorous audit and achieve the highest ‘Leader’ rating – this rating has been confirmed every year since then.
You can find out exactly which measures we have implemented at our venues or within the company in our environmental statement or on our measures overview page.
Offers and events
How quickly can I get an offer for one of your venues?
A: We can give you an individual offer within 24 hours of receiving your request.
Are you affiliated with a particular technical equipment provider, or do I have to engage one myself?
A: All technical equipment for your event is available through us. We have our own department for technical event equipment and in most of the venues, technical equipment such as audio equipment or video projectors are already installed.
Are you tied to a particular catering company?
For our lunch and evening buffets, we work with long-standing catering partners who are thoroughly familiar with the layout of our venues. We prepare the snacks for coffee breaks in our own kitchen. Subject to prior consultation with us, you may bring in a caterer of your choice for a corkage fee.
Is it possible to send you packages and production materials before the event?
A: Just talk to your event manager about the delivery of packages. Generally, all deliveries must to be sent to the Umweltforum. The title and date of your event must be clearly marked on the outside of the package and should arrive no earlier than a week before the event.
Can I give you feedback after my event?
A: Your opinion is very important to us. Following your event you will be sent an online questionnaire for your feedback. We are also happy to get your feedback in person.
Do you provide other services in and around the event?
A: Besides marketing the venues, we can also take on all agency services for your event. Among other things, this includes project management for all phases of the event as well as participant management, the development of individual spatial and lighting designs and a whole lot more. By providing you with both the venue and event services, you are able to benefit from the resulting synergy.
Do I need to take any particular sustainability aspects into account for my event?
We’d be happy to advise you on specific measures for your event, but there’s nothing out of the ordinary you need to take care of yourself. Naturally, whilst planning and organising your event, you should comply with existing laws and regulations, for example regarding waste disposal, noise control or event safety.
